From China, to the world

Wei Wei's historic journey in music started in 1986 when she won the National Young Singers contest in China and The 24th Sopot International Song Festival in Poland. Her talents were acknowledged globally when she performed at the 11th Asian Games in Beijing and sang a mesmerizing duet with Spanish singer Julio Iglesias at the 1993 East Asian Games in Shanghai.

Not just limited to music, Wei Wei has served her country in various prestigious roles such as Standing Committee Member of the All-China Youth Federation, China's Forestry Ambassador to the United Nations, and Goodwill Ambassador of the Chinese Football Association. In 2022, she joined the academic world as a Visiting Professor of Music and a doctoral advisor at Shinawatra University, a renowned private international university in Thailand.

Widely recognized for her connection with sports and the Olympics, Wei Wei has been China's Olympic Ambassador since 1993, fervently supporting the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics and gracing the stage at major Olympic events across the globe. She was also the only representative for Asia at the 100 Year Anniversary Show for the Olympic Games in Atlanta, USA in 1996.

Her songs have grown to be a hallmark of Chinese sport and national events. In 2006, her uplifting single "I Want to Fly" was chosen as the official theme song for the 2008 Olympic Sailing events. Her unwavering support for sports earned her the title "Queen of Sports" by the All-China Women's Federation in 2007.
